The Bollinger Design Award is an annual design competition recognizing original thinking at the frontier of electric mobility. The award was established to find original thinking that deserves to be seen — and to give it the means to become real.
Each year Bollinger Motors establishes a theme that defines the territory for that cycle. The theme is set by Robert Bollinger as a public statement about where design and electric mobility should be looking — and what questions deserve more serious attention than they are currently receiving.
Submissions are reviewed by Robert Bollinger. One entry is selected to receive $50,000 in unrestricted funding. There are no equity arrangements, no obligations, and no restrictions on use. The winner decides what the work becomes.
The competition is open to anyone. There are no age, enrollment, or professional requirements.
Each year's theme is set by Robert Bollinger and defines the scope of that cycle's submissions. The theme is specific enough to focus the work and open enough to accommodate a wide range of approaches — from product design to systems thinking to speculative proposals.
Theme to be announced.
Entries consist of a written description and up to five visuals. Full submission requirements are on the application page.
